What Is LAPIP®?

LAPIP® (Laser-Assisted Peri-Implant Procedure) is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment designed specifically to treat inflammation and infection around dental implants—also known as peri-implantitis. Using a specialized dental laser, LAPIP targets harmful bacteria while preserving the healthy tissue supporting your implant.

Unlike traditional surgical approaches, LAPIP does not require cutting the gums or placing sutures. The laser gently removes infected tissue and disinfects the area, allowing your body to begin healing naturally and helping to stabilize your implant.

The Benefits of LAPIP

LAPIP offers a more comfortable alternative to traditional implant surgery, with most patients experiencing minimal discomfort during and after treatment. Because the procedure is minimally invasive, there is typically less bleeding, swelling, and downtime.

In addition to comfort, LAPIP helps protect your investment in dental implants by targeting infection early and supporting the regeneration of healthy bone and gum tissue. This can play a critical role in preserving the stability and longevity of your implant.

How LAPIP Differs from Traditional Implant Surgery

Traditional treatment for peri-implantitis often involves surgically opening the gums to access the infected area, cleaning the implant surface, and placing sutures. While effective, this approach can be more invasive and require a longer recovery period.

LAPIP uses laser technology to selectively remove diseased tissue and bacteria without harming the surrounding healthy structures. With no incisions or stitches, patients benefit from a gentler experience, reduced discomfort, and faster healing.

Protecting Your Dental Implants

Peri-implantitis is one of the leading causes of dental implant failure, often developing silently without noticeable symptoms in its early stages. If left untreated, it can lead to bone loss and eventual implant loss.

LAPIP provides a powerful solution by targeting the bacteria responsible for the infection while supporting your body’s natural healing response. Early treatment can help stop the progression of the disease and preserve your implant for years to come.
